In an unprecedented networking effort to date in the field of Organometallic Chemistry in Spain, 52 research groups have merged and created the OASIS (ORGANOMETALLIC CHEMISTRY FOR SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS) Network.

Work under the OASIS framework focuses on the development of new avenues toward sustainable chemistry, searching for potential solutions for general issues in modern chemistry. The main targets will be the following:

– Use of greenhouse gases as chemical feedstocks or biobased feedstock.
– Decrease/elimination of byproducts in raw materials-based transformations.
– Development of catalytic systems operating at low or no energetic cost.
– Use of non-conventional, sustainable reaction media.
– Development or optimization of recycling in catalytic processes.
– Mechanistic studies towards the achievement of the above targets.
